 The job

As a Linux Senior Systems Engineer you work in an infrastructure team with members from multiple locations around the world. This team is responsible for supporting the Global Datacenter, Projects and Operations. In this job you have a variety of tasks and responsibilities like designing and implementing larg-scale environments, coordinating and troubleshooting with network and applications administrators and coordinating software updates. You will work in different systems and environments so you need broad experience. Everybody in the team has their own specialism and your specialism is linux.
 

Tasks and responsibilities

• manage more than 200 servers in a Microsoft Active Directory environment ensuring that each server has 99% uptime
• coordinate and troubleshoot problems with network and application administrators, desktop support, project management and database administrators to ensure our server and IT infrastructure platforms meet customer requirements
• lead, coordinate and participate in key process improvements for all server environments across the customer base
• coordinate with various teams to schedule releases of software updates, new implementations and new plans
• communicate issues and resolutions to all levels of the organization
• provide remote technical support for multiple server environments
   

Skills and experience

• minimal BsC in Computer Science or equivalent
• proven experience with designing, implementing and maitaining enterprise backups an disaster recovery of large-scale Linux 4.x and 5.x or higher
• experience with backups & recovery of Oracle and SQL Server databases
• advanced knowledge and troubleshooting of Windows server 2000/20003/2008
• advance knowledge of Active Directory/LDAP/Domain Controller Configuration
• able to work independently, but also a teamplayer
• fluent in English in writing as wel as in speaking
• willing to provide out of hours support (on-call service)
   

The organization

Our contracter is an international organization in the energy industry. They are located in The Hague, Amsterdam and Haarlem. The Linux Senior Systems Engineer works 80 percent of the time in Haarlem, but will also work at the other locations.
 

The offer

Our contracter offers a challanging, variable assignment with space for own initiative. The offer depends of your knowledge and experience  It concerns a contract for 40 hours a week. Our client has also an excellent remuneration package, like a bonus, 31 days off and a pension plan.
The first period you will work via Astorium.
